A Makeover Has Never Been Easier.
How do i calculate how much i need?
To determine the amount you need, start by sketching a simple drawing on paper. For instance, if the average panel size is 500mm x 700mm, you would require four lengths for each panel—two for the top and two for the sides. Therefore, for each panel, you would need approximately 3 meters of paneling in total. If you desired three sets of panels, you'd require around 9 meters, factoring in some extra for potential mistakes.
Gather your tools
- Peel and panel PVC product (quantity depends on the area to cover)
- Scissors or angle cutters (for cutting the panels to size)
- Tape measure (to measure the wall and panels for precise cuts)
- Level or straight edge (to ensure panels are installed straight)
- Pencil (for marking measurements and guidelines on the wall)
Prepare your walls
- Clean the walls: Start by thoroughly cleaning the walls to remove any dust, dirt, or grease. Use a mild detergent solution and a sponge to clean the surface. Ensure that the walls are completely dry before proceeding.
- Repair any imperfections: Fill in any holes, cracks, or gaps in the wall using filler. Smooth the filler over the surface with a putty knife and allow it to dry completely. Once dry, sand down any rough areas until the surface is smooth.
Prepare your panelling
- Unravel the roll: Begin by unrolling the paneling completely.
- Remove protective packaging: Take off any protective packaging or covers from the paneling.
- Straighten out the roll: Smooth out any bends or creases in the paneling by laying it flat.
- Add weighted objects: Place weighted objects along the edges of the paneling or apply tape to hold it flat, ensuring it remains straight overnight.
It's time to get started
Step 1: Measure and cut your panels
- Measure your desired panel size on the back of the panel.
- Use scissors or angle cutters to cut the panel to size before removing the packaging.
Step 2: Cut at a 45-degree angle for corners
- Measure and mark a 45-degree angle on the back of the panel where it meets the corner.
- Cut the panel at the marked angle for a seamless corner fit.
Step 3: Remove the protective backing
- Peel off the red protective backing from the adhesive side of the panel.
Step 4: Mark your wall for guidance
- Use a plumb line measuring tool to mark a vertical line on the wall right next to where the strip will go. This line will serve as a guide for hanging the first strip.
Step 5: Position the panel
- Once the adhesive is exposed, position the panel to check alignment.
- If it looks straight, apply the panel to the wall, starting from the top.
Step 6: Apply putty filler for any gaps on corners
- If there are any gaps or imperfections on corners, apply putty filler to achieve a smooth finish.
Step 7: Paint directly to the wall paneling
- Optionally, paint directly onto the wall paneling to match your walls or leave it as is in brilliant white.
Step 8: Admire your work
- Step back and enjoy the results of your efforts. You've successfully installed your paneling!
